What do Bed Bug Bites Look Like?
Bed bug bites can appear differently for different people. And while we can’t say for certain just from looking at a bite whether it came from a bed bug or not – there are some telltale signs and things to look for.

Bed bug bites are often grouped together in a small area. Sometimes they appear in a line or a zigzag pattern. Bed bug bites often look like small red blotchy areas. They can be itchy, red, or inflamed. Depending on the person, a bite may or may not even be noticeable right after being bitten because people react to bed bug bites differently.
Bed bug bite sizes and reactions depend on a number of things. It is usually not the bug itself but the bed bug’s saliva (and the anti-coagulant contained within it) that determined how a person reacts to the bite. Different people will have various sensitivities to the bed bug’s bite and saliva and this along with the severity of itching and scratching that takes place, will cause variations in the look and size of the bite marks.
